For over two hundred years a ferry service has transported people across the Hunter River, between Stockton on the north shore and Newcastle city, and back again. The service is used by hundreds of workers, cyclists, surfers, walkers, tourists and locals every day, including weekends.

Recently the ferry service recorded an historic first, when the vessel sailed under the direction of an all female crew.
