After multiple deliberations for the last 7 years, the NSW Government’s final compensation offer of $905 millions has been accepted by the NSW Taxi Council.

This follows the significant structural changes in the industry, brought about by ride-sharing companies, such as Uber.

Although this scheme would not be sufficient to cover all the costs of the license plates owners’ investment, it provides hope for the future of the taxi industry, particularly for remote and regional taxi companies.
