The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day was #ChooseToChallenge, which aimed to address gender bias and inequality.

But for Australian women, a more taboo topic was being discussed.

After former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins came forth with an alleged sexual assault that took place inside Parliament House, the Government’s response was less than well-received.

As a result, it has raised conversations about supporting sexual assault victims, and even protests to take place across the country on Monday.
