Thousands of childcare centres across Australia shut their doors as part of industrial action led by the United Worker’s Union.

Early childhood educators walked off the job, protesting low pay and poor working conditions, with the average childcare worker earning forty cents over minimum wage.

Rallies were held in every state and territory on Early Childhood Educator’s Day, a day meant to recognise and celebrate the work done by childcare workers around Australia.
