Indigenous Australian communities are beginning to influence Western practice in the field of Astronomy. First Nations communities are recognised as being among the worlds first known ‘Astronomers’, using constellations and star patterns as a major point of reference throughout their history.

While modern Western astronomy has the benefit of advanced technology, researches are turning to Indigenous Australians to fill some of the gaps that telescopes can’t.
