The upcoming winter suggests the addition of a fast-spreading flu to the current COVID crisis, creating distress across the nation about catching the combination of both viruses.

According to Dr. Karen Price, president of the RACGP, it is possible, but very unlikely that a person will be infected with both at the same time. Although this does provide some comfort to those worrying about the “flurona”, she warns us about the severed impact of all respiratory viruses this coming winter.  It also could be difficult to differentiate between influenza and COVID on symptoms alone, thus it is even more important for people to undergo COVID tests.
