In a surprising move in Australian politics, LNP MP George Christensen announced he will not contest his seat at the next Federal election.

In a statement, he wrote Australian politics is broken and blamed the leftist culture in Australia, among other issues, for his decision of retiring.

This is his 4th term as an MP at the Australian Parliament, and he’s previously been in the spotlight because he’s outspoken about different issues, such as the bank royal commission in 2017, his views on same-sex marriage, and refugees.
