The 2022 Bathurst 1000, one of the biggest races in the Australian Motorsport calendar, looked like it might not have gone ahead- with heavy rain and flood warnings putting a damper on the weekend.

But the race went ahead, with Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander taking first place in a Holden Commodore.

This year was particularly historic, marking the final year a Holden would enter the race, after the manufacturer ended assembly in Australia in 2017 and retired the badge in 2021.
