People with autism can be unfairly judged based on their behaviours, which can create a disadvantage in the criminal judicial system according to new research from Flinders University.

Some common behaviours for people with autism, such as fidgeting and avoiding eye contact, are associated with perceptions of dishonesty and deception, highlighting the need for better education around Autism Spectrum Disorder.
