With tensions rising internationally and the need for jobs and economic growth domestically, the Australian government has today unveiled a billion-dollar missile plan, followed by a projected 207 billion dollars being spent on defence in the next two decades alone.

Liberal MPs have spent the day endorsing the plan and its benefits, but it raises the question of how insecure the Australian Government fears our geo-political situation is, with particular regard to our wavering relationship with China.

Malcolm Davis of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute explained why he felt the plan was a necessary addition to Australia’s defensive infrastructure.
