Today Telstra faced the fallout of a case brought against them by the ACCC for unconscionable dealings with Indigenous customers between 2016 and 2018. An inquiry found that some of their stores had been misleading customers in remote communities in order to sign them up for mobile phone contacts. In some cases, customers were chased for huge debts for services they did not need or could not access.

In spite of Telstra’s official apology, Reconciliation Australia has today formally revoked Telstra’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
