The Rohingya refugees living in Bangladesh are facing worsening living conditions with Bangladeshi authorities moving the refugees to the island of Bhasan Char.
There have also been recent allegations of the refugees being beaten for moving about the island refugee site.
Bangladesh have said they are no longer able to take on the ethnic Muslim group, however, returning to home is not a safe option for the refugees under Myanmar’s current military control.
Bhasan Char is a silt island, and there are concerns the island is a flood risk and lacks basic essentials such as clean water.
