With the pandemic and the border closures, Australians stranded overseas have shown its disappointment at the Federal government’s border closures.

According to figures from the Federal government, 35,218 Australians are waiting to get back to Australia. A third of the stranded Australians are in India, including 209 children who are not with their parents.

The issue has shown flaws in the system on why Australian children are not allowed to come back with their parents, showing a potential human rights breach.
