This week, a group of health advocacy groups, leaded by the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisation, developed a pathway to eradicate HIV community transmission in Australia by 2025.
To eliminate the transmission, the health organisations are asking the Federal government to fund an additional $53 million to prevent, test, treat, and eliminate stigma around the condition. With this funding, the organisations believe HIV can be eliminated, saving the government around $1.4 billion in health treatment.
