The National Press club today invited two women who have been critical of the Prime Minister’s approach recently, former political staffer Brittany Higgins and immediate past Australian of the Year Grace Tame, to address the club.
Tickets were reportedly sold out in record time and heavily supported by women in the Press Gallery and Parliament House.
The message that they had heard the words but would prefer to see some action on sexual assault was a clear take-out from both women’s speeches and in answers to journalists questions.
