The Victorian government has recommended that school staff and students aged 8 and older wear masks in indoor settings. The recommendation excludes activities such as music and sports.
This follows the recent spike in COVID cases across the state, which has seen consistently around 10,000 daily new infections since the end of June.
There are concerns among medical professionals regarding the recommendation’s effectiveness due to measures only being voluntary.
