Viral fragments of foot and mouth disease have recently been detected in a Melbourne supermarket and Adelaide airport.

Since the outbreak began in Indonesia in May 2022, the highly contagious disease which effects cloven hoofed animals, like cattle, has spread across the country and beyond, causing concern and prompting calls for action from Australia’s agriculture industry.
