This week, the Senate Commission Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous women and children has begun.
The inquiry has found so far murder rates for Indigenous women are eight times higher than for their non-Indigenous counterparts.
When women are murdered, the community is rightfully outraged about the issue, but when is about Indigenous women, usually the media and the community do not discuss this serious issue.
