Anthony Albanese has announced they will be extending government-funded parental leave from 18 week to 26 weeks by the year 2026.

The details of the new model hasn’t been announced yet, however, there has been mentions of flexible weeks and the re-establishment of the take-it-or-leave it payments for ‘Fathers and Partners’.

Although this is seen as a win for encouraging women’s participation into the workforce, some are worried if 2 weeks leave is too little paid leave time for fathers and partners.
