Domestic violence researchers say women facing financial abuse are often coerced into giving up their Super by their partners.

Financial coercion is becoming more common and the long-term impact on women, in particular, is detrimental.

As the federal coalition could increase super withdrawals to 50 thousand for first home buyers, this would place women in even more vulnerable situations.

I speak with Cathy Humphries a senior Melbourne University lecturer specialising in domestic violence about the increase in women reporting about financial coercion at the hands of their partners.
