Pathology services in Australia could be at risk if they do not receive funding in the upcoming federal budget.
Australian Pathology – the national peak body for private pathology in the country – has requested $630 million over the next four years to keep pathology items bulk billed.
They also say a reintroduction of indexation will keep pathology accessible to Australians.
So why has there been a freeze in funding for pathology services?
