The NSW solar battery rebate rolls out in November 2024. The rebate is known as a certificate scheme, where certificates are generated based on peak demand reduction, homeowners sign the rights to the certificates over to Accredited Certificate Providers (ACPs), who trade the certificates on the market and pay a portion to the solar installer. This rebate is already deducted from any solar battery quote provided to the customer.

Concerns are raised as the initial offers from ACPs are up to 30% lower than expected.

What does this mean for NSW homeowners?
