Steve Bannon, one of Donald Trump’s closest advisers and former White House Chief Strategist, has today been released from jail.
Bannon was imprisoned for 4 months for contempt of congress, after refusing to hand over documents pertaining to the January 6 riots in the Capitol in a congressional subpoena.
Bannon’s podcast, ‘War Room’, is a popular and influential alt-right platform, used to espouse conspiracy theories including the lie of the 2020 stolen election. Immediately upon his release, Bannon claimed Nancy Pelosi unjustly imprisoned him for political gain on the podcast.
