The 2022 floods in eastern Australia, were one of the nation’s worst recorded flood disasters. But, as devastated families and communities struggled to rebuild their lives and their homes, how have insurance policies panned out in the aftermath?

The House Standing Committee on Economics recently released its report on the inquiry into insurers’ responses to 2022 major floods claims. Flood Failure to Future Fairness, contains 86 recommendations aimed at improving responses to flood claims and how insurers need to better support clients.
