Recent research from the Australian National University reveals smoking contributes to over 24 thousand deaths annually in Australia—surpassing previous estimates.
The study also shows even light smoking significantly escalates risk of mortality, highlighting a need for increased public health measures to combat smoking’s long-term effects and prevent newer generations from falling into nicotine addiction.
