How will new hate speech laws protect multicultural communities?

Parliament has begun the year by introducing new laws targeting hate speech, extremism and antisemitism, following the Bondi tragedy in December.

But with protests against migration on the rise across Australia, questions remain about how effective these measures will be in protecting multicultural communities.
