Today, historic abortion reform has passed the South Australian Parliament.
Under the new reforms abortion will be decriminalised, and will now be treated as a health care issue.
The reforms allow a pregnancy to be terminated up to 22 weeks and six days gestation if two doctors deem it a medically appropriate late-term abortion.
The passage of the bill in SA means Western Australia is the only state that uses criminal law to regulate abortion.
