A new report by The Australia Institute’s Centre for Future Work calls for increased funding for Australian public schools.
The report finds additional funding of $6.6 billion dollars annually is required for public schools to meet the Schooling Resource Standards federal and state governments committed to a decade ago.
Focusing on three broad channels of impact including immediate employment and economic activity and the enhanced labour market and performance of students who complete school, the report calls particular attention to the broader social benefits arising from increased public-school funding.
