Instead of the longer handover, Alan Joyce has elected to go now, taking his board sanctioned millions with him.
Many shareholders are angry they did not get a chance to confront Mr Joyce at the upcoming AGM over his bonuses during the period Qantas was sustaining losses. It seems that the CEO’s get bonuses to incentivise them in poor periods and bonuses to reward them in good periods, and many ordinary workers wonder why.
