Alleged war crimes, women’s rights and the continuation of a positive relationship were the main points of discussion between Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani and Foreign Minister Marise Payne on Sunday.
The Ministers visit lasted just a few hours, and follows the news that Australia, along with the US, will withdrawal it’s military presence by September. While continued aid will be directed toward Afghanistan, the stability of its government is already being questioned.
Just a day before the representatives met, a bomb saw 68 people killed in the capital, Kabul. An ominous picture for the nations future is already being painted, raising doubts on reasons for our departure along the way.
