Despite being in place for fifteen years, the government’s Better Access initiative is under question as mental health practitioners consider the efficiency of the scheme.
While some mental health practitioners, such as the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), are advocating to work under the scheme to provide more options for people seeking mental health support, others are concerned that there are fundamental issues with the rebate that need to be addressed.
