So many apps want to hear about you, your friends, your interests – in the name of personalisation. It’ s a slippery slope and Big Data is out of control, warns Australia’s former privacy commissioner. Social media apps have all sorts of devious ways to get you to reveal things about yourself and give consent to things you probably shouldn’t about how your data will be used.
