A new Rabobank report, The ‘Avolanche’ of Australian Avocados, has found that Australia’s yearly avocado production has grown dramatically. The report estimates that the volume of avocados produced will be 30,000 more than last year.
The bank suggested that optimal climate conditions and a high rate of maturing of avocados trees has caused this growth. The record-low prices of avocados has resulted in a 6% increase in Australian consumption.
The recent boom in produce may also enable the Australian avocado industry to profit off international exports on a larger scale.
