Australia has signed up to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals which include Goal 4:”to ensure ‘inclusive and equitable quality education’ and promote ‘lifelong learning for all’.
Yet, that right for Australian children living with disability will not be there for now, after the Federal Government and seven of the eight state and territories opted not to bring an end to segregated education, when the response to the Royal Commission on disability was released this week.
Inclusive education has been adopted in many countries around the world, including amongst others, Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania, in Africa, but remains beyond the reach of children in this country.
