With no legislation in place to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, Australia has fallen behind other developed nations in taking action on climate change.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has recently embraced the idea of net-zero by 2050, though many believe that this is not ambitious enough.

Australia remains on track to reach its comparatively low 2030 goal of a 26-28% reduction, however, there is still a desire for a more explicit strategy going forward.
