Cattle have a special place not only economically but socially in Africa. The way cattle are used and raised is radically different from Australia and other western countries.
Everything of the beast is used, and the cattle themselves are a kind of bank for the people living in rural areas. It represents their wealth and status. The way they are raised is also environmentally sound with little waste. Yet climate change has affected seasonality, the soils and pests.
