Every 5 years the Australian people are required to complete the Census, a survey that collects information used to understand the demographics of our nation, and how we are changing over time.
The Census plays an important role in informing policy, however, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have been undercounted in previous surveys. This could impact negatively on these communities and in response, there is an ongoing push for more Census participation from these indigenous communities, especially indigenous youth.
The Census will be held on August 10th.
