Aged care in Australia is at a crisis point.
In 2021, the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety released its final report, which contained 148 recommendations to build a stronger, more supported system.
Yet the sector continues to struggle, and this is felt by the estimated 191,000 Australians who are in residential aged care.
Challenges in aged care homes particularly in regional and remote areas are unique, and families of aged care residents have come forward detailing the poor quality of care for the elderly in these homes, including 82-year old Sale Resident Dora Blazincic.
