With the latest lockdown in Sydney, communities across the state are struggling to cope with it. However, a new research shows that Aboriginal communities in the state are feeling less stressed thanks to the child care, particularly Aboriginal elders.
According to the research, community services working with Aboriginal families in one part of the state suggested that caring for children protected Elders against social isolation during the lockdown. Since First Nations people are connected to family, the pandemic and lockdowns have brought anxiety and uncertainty on when to see their families.
