The merging of the Family Court and the Federal Circuit Court was bound to have some teething problems. With more resources given to the new entity the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia, much of the case backlog is decreasing.
But the Women’s Legal Service in Queensland find that the increased amount of forms make it difficult for those who have less education or online skills to participate equally in the new system. Legal aid needs to be available for those who need help.
