There’s community support behind a review into racism in the Northern Territory’s police force, according to the NT’s Anti-DiscriminationCommissioner Jeswynn Yogaratnam.

The Commissioner’s comments follow the Northern Territory government’s decision to scrap a proposed independent review into racism within the Territory’s Police Force.

Attorney-General Marie-Clare Boothby, says the $300,000 used to conduct the review will be redirected to Legal Aid to keep them sustainable.

National Indigenous Radio Service’s reporter Adam Evans spoke with Commissioner Yogaratnam, who says there’s an appetite for the review to go ahead.
