Trillions of pieces of plastic are in our oceans and it’s predicted that global plastic production is set to double by 2040.  The issue has since been termed by a leading scientist as “a planetary crisis”.

In a bid to explore how different countries are tackling plastic pollution, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation has published a book, Ending Plastic Waste, which highlights stories across the globe bringing together 19 initiatives from 15 countries including Australia.

So, how are communities world-wide playing their part using creativity to mitigate the issue?
