Doctors making a difference in remote communities

The need for quality healthcare in remote and rural communities is as important as ever and it continues to be difficult to get GP’s to work in these locations.

The Remote Vocational Training Scheme have been working for over 20 years to combat this ‘tyranny of distance’ and they are currently running an ongoing training program which will be recruiting doctors for 32 remote locations for 2022.

This training can be accessed by doctors already working in regional and First Nations communities, or doctors can elect to move to a community in need. The next round of applications will be open from 30 August to 12 September.
