As the largest-ever restructure of the NDIS is set to begin, Indigenous Disability experts say its success depends on the extent to which the review’s recommendations are implemented.
The findings of the NDIS review and royal commission have called for the NDIS to be more inclusive of First Nations Australians in its decision-making and in its governance and leadership.
A key recommendation for Indigenous Australians from the review called for an alternative commissioning process to be set up with Indigenous participants, representatives and communities.
