Protests continue across Australia as thousands gather to take a stand against the Israel – Hamas war, with some going to great lengths to amplify their calls for immediate ceasefire.

It’s been 18 days since Gazan-born nurse Riyad Aladassi began a hunger strike, calling on the Federal government to play a more active role in demanding a ceasefire.

Last Friday, National Radio News reporter Charlie Willis spoke to Mr Aladassi in Port Melbourne, where protesters had been camping out to block what they believed were arms shipments to Israel.
