This week, the High Court has ruled Google is not a publisher of the websites it links to in search results, making it not liable for defamatory news.

The ruling overturned the decision of the Victorian court to pay compensation to a Victorian lawyer from an article published by The Age in 2004, saying the hyperlinks spread defamation against him.
