A report recommending many amendments to the Australian legal system, including a Charter of Human Rights, was released today.
The report, prepared by lecturer at the RMIT Graduate School of Business and Law, Dr Adam Fletcher, comes after multiple major bills were flagged by the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights.
72 of the 400 bills passed through both Houses of Parliament between 2019 and 2021 were raised as concerns.
Australia does not currently have a charter of rights or federal document outlining the human rights protected by law.
