Tomorrow is Save the Koala Day, a day for raising awareness about koalas and their importance in Australian culture.
Over several decades koalas have become increasingly vulnerable to land clearing and bushfires.
While some state governments like WA and Victoria are banning native forest logging, other states are falling behind, like the New South Wales government, which still allows logging in the Newry Forest in the Mid Coast.
