The ABC has finally called Macnamara as a retained Labor seat, giving Anthony Albanese the 76 House of Representative seats needed to form a majority government. The counting for the Senate is still going, but it is expected that Labor, the Greens and David Pocock will have control of the Senate.
Mr Albanese first week as Prime Minister saw him travel to the Quad meeting in Tokyo, and meet with US President Joe Biden, just days after the election. His foreign minister has also been busy, with Penny Wong travelling to Fiji to have a meeting with their Prime Minister.
