Palestinian human rights groups are launching a historic legal bid to determine whether Australian arms exports are supporting Israeli forces in attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Last week, it was revealed that Australia had approved 322 defence exports to Israel over the past six years. The figures released do not include details of what exactly was approved, or how the goods would be used.
The first legal challenge of its kind, the groups are seeking to compel the release of the permit documents from the office of Defence Minister, Richard Marles, through the federal court of Australia.
